Cars in NYC bike lanes get stickered

The Daily Green reports on the controversial stickers (right) that some activists are putting on cars parked in bicycle lanes in New York City. Parking in bike lanes is against the law.

The anonymous group - who started putting the stickers on the offending vehicles last week - has already handed out "a couple hundred."

They claim it's a safety issue, yet the car owners could consider it vandalism even though they are breaking the law by parking in a bike lane.

As one commenter wrote: "some bicyclists will just pick their bike up and slam it into the car and continue on their way. This does a lot more damage than a sticker on the window or bumper."

Brazil's Pantanal animal kingdom

The Daily Green has a nice slideshow of the diverse wildlife of Brazil's Pantanal region. Animals shown include the giant anteater (picture right).

This region is a tropical wetland in the Mato Grosso do Sul state in the southwest of the country and extends into neighboring Bolivia and Paraguay according to Wikipedia.

Visit these ten places before they disappear

The Daily Green.com reports on 10 vacation spots to view or enjoy before the attraction dies away.

Among their recommendations is seeing the bats over Austin, Texas Congress Bridge (pic right). Bats in the U.S. are being afflicted by a deadly white fungus called white nose syndrome. So although it hasn't show up in these Austin bridge bats yet, the disease is spreading from the east gradually westward.

Among the other recommendations are a drive through Appalachia scenery, fishing for salmon on the Snake River, and taking photos of glaciers in Glacier National Park.
